Mastering Your Crisis: Part 3
June 6, 2018How To Increase Your Faith
July 4, 2018A Call To Holiness
The Bible mentions hell more than it does heaven. Discussions of sin, wickedness, judgment and overcoming occur repeatedly throughout the New Testament.
Unfortunately, in many Christian churches today, such Biblical topics have gone out of style. Many pastors seldom even mention—never mind meaningfully teach on—these pervasive Biblical subjects.
The result is a pseudo-love-based doctrine of God’s view of our sin. This warped doctrine is taught irrespective of what the inspired Word of God actually says.
But, My Friends, the Bible hasn’t changed. The Bible still has just as much to say about sin, judgment, overcoming, and holiness as it did when it was written. Here are four scriptures for your careful contemplation today:
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. 2 Cor. 7:1
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.“ 1 Pet. 1:15-16
…each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Jam. 1:14-15
To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. Rom. 2:7-8
Join me in praying that the full Word of God will be preached in our community, not just the parts of the Bible that are popular, “loving,” or easy to understand.
Be blessed today in Jesus’ Name!
